This Sunday, August 14^th from noon to 4pm, Ecstatic Cuisine is participating in the first annual Food Quizbowl at the Highball. We are so excited to be a part of this fun trivia event and have a little friendly competition with our counterparts in the Austin food community.

Four of our valued chefs will be participating in the quiz:

Jesse Bloom

David Kogan

Ian LeClair

Keith Jackson

And the quizbowl will be hosted by the wonderful Addie Broyles of the Austin American-Statesman.

Proceeds from the event benefit Slow Food Austin http://slowfoodaustin.org/ . This is an important organization that shares Ecstatic Cuisine’s mission to support the local community and sustainability initiatives.

Farmer's Market Watermelon Demo

On Saturday, June 26, 2010 Jesse went down to the farmer’s market on 4th and Guadalupe to put on a watermelon and feta salad demo. Watermelons were provided by Orange Blossom Farms and the tasso ham in the salad was provided by Dai Due. Thanks to everyone that came out!

We kick off this summer season by participating in Slow Food Austin‘s Happy Hour event at Boggy Creek Farm on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 5:00PM. Ecstatic Cuisine is a great supporter of the slow food movement and will be preparing a menu based on all the great things slow food has to offer.
