On Saturday, June 26, 2010 Jesse went down to the farmer’s market on 4th and Guadalupe to put on a watermelon and feta salad demo. Watermelons were provided by Orange Blossom Farms and the tasso ham in the salad was provided by Dai Due. Thanks to everyone that came out!

Intrigued? Confused? Want to know more about the slow food movement?

Well, the slow food movement works to promote biodiversity in our food supply, gastronomic education in our communities, and facilitate connections between ethical and delicious food producers and co-producers. The movement seeks to help people rediscover excellent food and better understand where their food comes from, who makes it, and how it’s made.

So, if you’re interested in meeting the those behind the food that you eat, please come down to the Slow Food Austin event. We would love to meet you! Please see flyer below for more details.

Event Testimonial from Laurie Foss

On Thursday, March 25, 2010, Ecstatic Cuisine catered the Governor’s Green Jobs Business Council lunch @ the Texas State Capitol. We also provided morning coffee service. Laurie Foss of Good Company Associates in conjunction with Texas Foundation for Innovative Communities hosted the meeting. Ms. Foss was gracious enough to send in her feedback and thoughts after the event.

1) Your comments about:

- The food?

The food was excellent, of very good quality, fresh and there was plenty of it. I received many favorable comments from the participants for the quality of the food provided.

- The service?

The service was excellent. Having the recycling bins was perhaps the part of the service that received the most comments, both from participants and from capitol staffers. It was a very impressive demonstration of the sustainability we were talking about at the conference.

- The overall event experience?

Excellent. Very professional-appearing staff, terrific presentation of the food tables, everything was clean and well-kept.

- Working with Ecstatic Cuisine in planning?

Outstanding. Jesse couldn’t have been more responsive to my requests, and there were many! He met our needs each time I had a request, and responded to a last-minute request for additional catering on Friday.

2) What was the best part of your experience with Ecstatic Cuisine?

Your commitment to customer service and sustainability practices.

3) Were your expectations met?

They were exceeded.
